Binder Zipper Pouch – Sewing Project

Hello friends!  This is the last post in the binder series and you are going to love this zipper pouch to hold your writing pens, colored pencils and stamps for your letter writing.

The pattern for this pouch was designed by Lisa Cox who has some of my favorite patterns. The instant download pattern is only $5 and can be purchased from her Etsy shop here. The instructions are written so clearly with photos for every step. It is definitely beginner friendly!

My favorite thing about this zipper pouch is that it has an elastic band that holds it in place on the binder. It is going to be so handy to have my pen and stamps right with me when I sit down to write a letter.

And of course having the pouch match my binder perfectly was a definite plus!

Since the elastic band goes over the front cover, it creates a spot on the inside of the binder cover that actually works great to tuck extra cards, envelops, or even notes.

The pouch is such a perfect size for all the little things you need to keep handy.

This last month as I’ve been working on the tutorial for this binder series, I made several sets in order to make sure to get the tutorials perfect. Two of them are going to my life long girlfriends that are still my besties. I’m so excited to get them mailed because I can’t think of a better gift for that best friend in your life. Or sister. Or mother. Or anyone that you know that would love an easier way to keep in touch through letter writing.

I love the finished look of all these binders so much. The zipper pouch was the perfect finish!

My hope in writing this series of blog posts, tutorials, and pattern sharing is that not only will you be encouraged to make something beautiful for yourself or someone else; but that you will be encouraged to keep in touch with others. To have a monthly calendar of letters to write and beautiful cards for that purpose will make it so much easier. I’ve begun my list and not only have I made notes of loved ones to write to, but I also want to send little words of encouragement to the people I don’t know so well.

Right now there is so much stress and worry in the world and I want to be an encouragement to others… sometimes all it takes is a simple note in a handmade card!

I think the words on this fabric scrap on this pouch are exactly what I need to be reminded of every day. I hope these posts have encouraged you to share joy!

Thank you so much for following along!
