Knitted Winter Warm-Up Trio

Knit a fashionable winter ensemble to help keep you cozy on those chilly winter days. 

Abbreviations

  • Sts=Stitches
  • K=Knit
  • P=Purl
  • CO=Cast On
  • M1=Make One

Headband

Supplies
Worsted weight yarn or DK (No. 3)
Takumi Bamboo Double Pointed Needles Size 7 (Art No. 3015-7)
Darning Needle Set (Art No. 339)

Gauge
5.5 stitches to the inch

Measurement
Measure head circumference less 1” for a snug fit.

Seed Stitch Pattern
Row 1: K1, P1
Row 2: P1, K1.

Band
Cast on 20 stitches.
Work in Seed Stitch Pattern until piece measures desired length.
Bind off

Bow
Cast on 15 stitches.
Work in Seed Stitch Pattern for 11”

Bow Band
Cast on 8 sts.
Work in Seed Stitch Pattern for 4”

To Assemble Head Band
Measure and mark the center of the head band and center of bow. Attach the bow to head band at center points.
Place the Bow Band at the center of the bow; then pull ends to back of work and sew.
Weave ends of head band together at center back and hide threads.


Fingerless Gloves

Supplies
Worsted weght yarn or DK (No. 3)
Takumi Bamboo Double Pointed Needles Size 7 (Art No. 3015-7)
Jumbo Locking Stitch Marker (Art No. 3109)
Darning Needle Set (Art No. 339)

Gauge
5.5 stitches to the inch

Measurement
7″ round x desired length

Seed Stitch Pattern:
Row 1: K1, P1
Row 2: P1, K1.

Cast on 36 stitches. Divide on to three needles. Needle 1: 12 stitches, Needle 2: 12 stitches, Needle 3: 12 stitches.
Join for working in the round.

Work Ribbing
K2, P2 for 3″

Next Round
K2 together (35 sts.); then work Seed Stitch Pattern until work measures approximately 6″ (or to the base of the thumb).

Next round
Needle 1:  Keeping seed stitch pattern work 4sts., slip next 4 stitches to a stitch marker, CO 4 stitches using the backward loop method, continue to end. Work in the round until entire piece measures approximately 8″. Increase one stitch (M1). and work 1″ in Ribbing. Bind off.

Thumb
Place 4 stitches from stitch marker on a double point. Pick up (keeping in seed stitch pattern and working around the thumb opening) 4 stitches on second needle, pick up and work 3 stitches on the third needle (11 stitches total). Join.

Knit in round for 1.5″. Bind off.

Finishing
Weave in ends using the Tapestry Needle.


Boot Toppers

Supplies
Worsted weight yarn or DK (No 3)
Takumi Bamboo Double Pointed Needles Size 7 (Art No. 3015-7) or 9″ Circular Needles (Art No. 3016/9-7)
Darning Needle Set (Art No. 339)

Gauge
5.5 stitches to the inch
Measurement
Work as long as desired

Cast on 44 stitches over two needles for a loose edge. Join for working in the round.

Ribbing
K2, P2. Continue this ribbing until the desired length. (About 2”-3”)

Body
Knit in the round until entire piece measures about 6”.

Top
K2, P2 and continue ribbing until desired length. This is the piece which extends above the boot top, you may want to make it longer and turn it over the boot, as an option.

Finishing
Bind off all stitches loosely as this will be stretching over your calf.
Weave in the loose ends.
