Autumn Sunset: Crocheted Cable Scarf

A beginner friendly crochet project guaranteed to help you stay warm.

Materials

Light Worsted Weight Yarn (2 skeins)
Amour Crochet Hook I-5.5mm (Art. No 1048/I)
Darning Needle Set (Art. No 339)

Pattern

Base
Chain 20

Row 1 & 2:
Double crochet in each of the 20 stitches for 2 rows

Row 3:
Double crochet in 10 stitches-chain 18-join the chain 18 at the beginning of the chain (as if you are doing a picot)
Double crochet in remaining 10 stitches
Turn.

Row 4:
Double crochet in all 20 stitches
Turn.

Row 5:
Double crochet in 10 stitches, in Chain 18 loop work 28 double crochet
Double crochet in remaining 10 stitches

Row 6:
Double crochet in all 20 stitches, turn

**Repeat rows 3-6 until scarf measures desired length.

Second cable loop:
Take through the back of the first loop and gently pull up
Repeat with all the loops to the end

Double crochet on 20 stitches for 2 rows to complete scarf.

Tack last cable to scarf.

Attach fringe or finish as you desire.


Notes & Tips

Note: This scarf can be made with any weight yarn…adjust your crochet hook to work with your chosen yarn.

Tip: When working the “back” row (double crochet 20 across) be sure to keep the chain 18 loop to the front. The loop wants to flip to the back side. It helps to put a wonder clip in that loop and clip to front side of work until you establish your pattern.

Tip: If you want more than one cable on your scarf just add 10 stitches between the two cables.
