Autumn Acorn Plushie
Hi everyone, happy fall! My name is Julie Likley (@handsofzeal on IG), and today I’m bringing you this cute crochet acorn plushie! It features a cheerful little face and a decorative acorn leaf for added charm, making it the perfect touch for fall decor or as a delightful handmade gift.
MATERIALS:
- Amour Hook (9.00mm)
- Stitch Markers
- Patchwork Scissors
- yarn needle
- safety eyes
- polyfil
- bulky yarn (5)
- taupe
- tan
- green
NOTES:
**Rounds are worked continuously, do not join. Move stitch marker up each round.
BODY:
- Use taupe yarn.
- Start with a magic circle.
- Round 1: Ch 1, 4 sc inside the magic circle, place st marker in the 4th sc you made. (4 sc)
- Round 2: 2 sc in each st around. (8 sc)
- Round 3: 1 sc in each st around. (8 sc)
- Round 4: *1 sc in the first st, 2 sc in the next*, repeat around. (12 sc)
- Round 5: *1 sc in the first 2 sts, 2 sc in the next*, repeat around. (16 sc)
- Round 6: *1 sc in the first 3 sts, 2 sc in the next*, repeat around. (20 sc)
- Round 7: *1 sc in the first 4 sts, 2 sc in the next*, repeat around. (24 sc)
- Round 8: *1 sc in the first 5 sts, 2 sc in the next*, repeat around. (28 sc)
- Round 9-16: 1 sc in each st around. (28 sc)
- **Insert eyes before starting on top of acorn. You will place them between rows 13 and 14 spaced out between 4 sts.
TOP:
- Switch color to tan or light brown.
- Round 17: In FLO, *(1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 sc) all in the first st, 1 sc in the next st,* repeat around.
- Round 18: In BLO, *sc dec, 1 sc in each of the next two sts,* repeat around.
- Round 19-20: Repeat Row 18
- Round 21-22: In BLO, sc dec in each st around.
- Do not finish off yarn.
- You should have a small opening left now. Stuff with polyfill, then start on your stem.
- Round 23: *1 sc in each st around*
- Repeat until you have desired height of stem. Finish off and sew the top together.
LEAF:
- Use green yarn to ch 18
- Row 1: Sk 1, sl st in the next 6 sts, sc in the next 5 sts, hdc in the next 5 sts. Work 5 dc into the last ch.
- Continue working around onto the other side of the starting chains.
- Row 2: Hdc in the next 5 sts, sc in the next 4 sts, sl st into the next st. Leave the remaining
- chains unworked (creating the stem of the leaf).
- Row 3: Ch 1, turn, working back around the body of the leaf, *sc in the next st, hdc in the next st, into the next st work (2 dc, ch 2, sl st), rep from * 2 more times. Sc in the next 2 sts, 2 hdc in the next 2 sts, sc in the next 2 sts, **into the next st work (sl st, ch 2, 2 dc), hdc in the next st, sc in the next st, rep from ** 2 more times. Sl st to close.
- Fasten off, weave in ends.
- Attach leaf to the top of the acorn.
- Add smile with a small piece of yarn.
