Thanksgiving Turkey Leg! (crochet)

Happy November everybody! My name is Molly, from @louloopsco on IG! Now that we’ve had our spooky season, we can move to the next best holiday: Thanksgiving (because of the food, DUH)! Continuing on with our crochet food series, I decided we NEEDED to add a turkey leg into the mix 🙂 This is a super simple beginner pattern that works in the round, so let’s get started!

MATERIALS:

ABBREVIATIONS:

  • sc: single crochet
  • inc: increase
  • dec: decrease
  • ss: slip stitch
  • ch: chain

INSTRUCTIONS:

Round 1: Magic circle with 8 scs (or ch 2 and make 8 scs in the second ch from the hook).

Round 2: Inc in each stitch (16).

Round 3: Sc in the first, inc in the next, all the way around (24).

Round 4-Round 8: Sc in each stitch around (24).

Pause to stuff.

Round 9: Dec, then sc in the next 2. Repeat around (18).

Round 10: Sc in each stitch around (18).

Round 11: Dec, then sc in the next. Repeat around (12).

Round 12 – Round 14: Sc in each stitch around (12). Join with a ss and fasten off. No need to leave a long tail.

Pause to stuff, then change the color of your yarn to white.

Round 15: Sc in 2, then dec. Repeat 2 more times (9).

Round 16: Sc around (9).

Round 17: Sc in 2 then inc. Repeat 2 more times (12).

Round 18: Sc in the first, dec in the next. Repeat around (9). Fast off leaving a long tail.

Finish stuffing. Use your needle to weave the end closed.
