Easter Egg Bunny- Crochet Pattern

Hello! I’m Mary from MarysYarnBasket! Are you egg-cited for Easter? Work up a couple of these cute bunnies for your kids Easter basket or simply use them to decorate around your home! They work up super quick and are NO SEW! Who doesn’t love a no sew crochet project? Abbreviations

(U.S. crochet terms)

sc – single crochet

MR – magic ring

dec – crochet two stitches together (decreasing)

inc – crochet two stitches into the same stitch (increasing)

*– repeat around (unless otherwise noted)

Materials

  • 6.5mm crochet hook
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle
  • Poly-fil stuffing
  • 10 mm safety eyes
  • Premier Parfait Chunky Yarn (super bulky 6):
    • White
    • Scrap of black- (worsted weight) (nose)
    • 2 scraps of pink- (worsted weight) (blush)

This finished product will measure approximately inches 5 tall and 2 ½ inches wide.

Body (white)

  1. sc 6 into a MR (6)
  2. inc in each st around (12)
  3. sc, inc* (18)
  4. sc 2, inc* (24)

5-8. sc around (24)

  1. sc 2, dec* (18)

10-11. sc around (18)

12. sc, dec* (12)

Insert the safety eyes in-between rounds 10 and 11, approximately 3 stitches apart. Embroider the nose in-between and a row below the eyes. Embroider the blush below each eye. Feel free to do this at the end if you prefer. Stuff the bunny.

First ear

13. sc 5, then, insert your hook into the 6th stitch and reach across to your first sc and sc them together. Continue working in these 6 sc, eventually forming the first ear and stuffing as you go.

14. sc 6 around (6)

15. sc, inc* (9)

              16-17. sc around (9)

18. sc, dec* (6)

19. sc around (6)

Fasten off and with a yarn needle sew thru each st and pull shut.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Second ear

              Attach yarn at the st to the left of the finished ear. (Bunny front facing you) Stuff ear as you go just like before.

  1. sc 6 around (6)
  2. sc, inc* (9)

3-4. sc around (9)

  1. sc, dec* (6)
  2. sc around (6)

Fasten off and with a yarn needle sew thru each st and pull shut.
