Crochet Snow Globe Pattern

This festive winter snow globe applique can be used to complete any of your crochet projects, as a standalone coaster, tiered tray decor, etc.

Materials:

  • Clover Crochet Amour Hook in size I (5.50 mm) – Art. No 1048/I
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors
  • Bulky weight yarn or a medium weight yarn using 2 strands at the same time. I used a glacier blue, light gray, and twinkle white.

Stitches:

  • Chain (ch), single crochet (sc)
  • half double crochet (hdc)
  • double crochet (dc)
  • slip stitch (ss)

Using the glacier blue and working in a round:

Round 1 – Make a magic ring (or chain 2), and add 9 dcs, and join with a slip stitch.

Round 2 – Chain 2 (counts as a stitch), dc in the same stitch as ch2, and make 2 dcs in each stitch around (18), and join.

Round 3 – Chain 2, and dc in the same stitch as ch2, and make 1dc in the next stitch. *Make 2dcs in one stitch, and then 1dc in the next*, repeating the asterisks all the way around (30), and join.

Round 4 – Switching to the twinkle white yarn, chain 1 and hdc in the same stitch as ch1. Make 1 hdc in the next 2 stitches. *Make 2 hdcs in the next stitch, and then 1 hdc in the next 2 stitches.* Repeat the asterisks around.

Snow Globe Base:

Switching to the light gray, ch 1. Hdc in the same stitch as ch1. Hdc in the next 6. Ch 1, turn, make 2 hdcs in the first stitch, 1hdc in the next 6, and 2hdcs in the last stitch. Tie off and weave in the ends.

Finish by sewing in some snowflakes or adding any preferred embellishments.
