This video tutorial and written pattern are the third in a series of four that cover every special technique used to create The Dragonfruit Coaster. If you missed part 1 over Mosaic Knitting or part 2 over Mosaic Intarsia, be sure to check them out first! Next week’s final tutorial will go over adding fringe to your project. At this time, your middle panel of mosiac and mosiac intarsia stitches should be bound off and ready to go.
When you’re all set, let’s jump into the project!
Materials
- Takumi Interchangeable Needles Size 7 (4.5mm) – (Art. No 3637)
- Takumi Interchangeable Cord 29″ (Art No. 3647)
- Thread Clipper “Kuroha”- (Art No. 415)
- Tunisian Crochet Hook (Art No. 3693)
- One skein of worsted weight wool
Border Pattern
In either B or C from last tutorial,with RS facing pick up 22 sts along each of the four sides using circular needles.
Round 1: [(K2, p2) five times, k2, pm] four times.
Round 2: [K1, m1l, k1, (p2, k2) four times, p2, k1, m1r, k1, sm] four times.
Rounds 3-5: [K1, m1l, k to the next p, (p2, k2) four times, p2, k to 1 st before marker, m1r, k1, sm] four times.
Bind off in patt.
