Crochet a Bear Beanie

Rnd 1: 8 hdc inside magic ring, sl st in first hdc (8)
Rnd 2: Ch 2, hdc in same sl st, 2hdc in each st around, join with sl st top of ch 2 (16)

Next Earflap
Count to the right 28 sts. Attach blue yarn with a sl st, ch 1, 1 sc in next twelve sts, ch 1, turn.
Continue with rows 2-11 from first earflap.
Do not finish off, continue to make edging
Edging
Place stitch marker, ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each st around ending at stitch marker. Join with sl st
Finish off, use darning needle to weave in ends
Braids
Cut 6 strands of yarn in blue, 6 strands of yarn in green, and 6 strands of yarn in beige approx. 40″ long.
Use 3 strands of each color for each earflap.
Fold the 9 strands in half, pull the folded end approx 1″ through an opening at the bottom of earflap.
Grab the yarn and pull tight through loop. Braid the strands of yarn and secure the ends with a knot.
Ears:
Rnd 1: 6 hdc inside magic ring, sl st in first hdc (6)
Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in next 4 st (8)
Rnd 3: Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in next 8 sts (8)
Rnd 4: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in next 8 sts (16)
Rnd 5: Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in next 16 sts (16)
Finish off
Sew the ears between rounds starting to work at row 7 and down
