Watch Us Wednesday – Bead Embroidery
Tambour is the art of embroidering with a fine hook into a fine cloth stretched on a hoop. Our line of Katan Couture Bead Embroidery Tools and accessories help you create beautiful motifs using sequins and beads to embellish your designs. You thread the beads or sequins using our needle threader before you begin, and work the tool from the backside of the fabric while working the beads from the front. The results are stunning. Friday Finds – Kanzashi
Carol Porter created this fantastic display of the Kanzashi Flower Makers and finished flowers for her class at Portland Quilt Market. She used a cookie sheet with adhesive magnets on the back of each flower and template in her beautifully color coordinated guide to the available shapes and sizes of Kanzashi Flower Makers. The flowers shown from left to right are round petal, pointed petal, orchid petal, gathered petal, and daisy petal. The sizes from top to bottom are extra small, small, and large. Friday Finds – Quilt Inspiration
While we’re away at Quilt Market in Portland this week, we thought you might enjoy a little quilting inspiration from Nancy Zieman. Make It Monday – Pom Pom Hydrangeas
Have you tried making pom-poms with fabric? It gives the pom-pom a whole new look, perfect for a spring bouquet. It’s easy to do if you use a rotary cutter to cut the fabric, and is a wonderful way to use scraps from quilting and sewing projects.
