Tulips Kitchen Towel *crochet pattern*

Crochet, flowers, and spring! These are a few of my favorite things! What a thrill! As spring approaches, I thought that creating a piece of decor that brightens the house, particularly the kitchen, seemed appropriate. I designed this piece, which is simple, seasonally suitable, and functional. I named it the Tulips Kitchen Towel because of the featured flower design.

Before we get started on the pattern, let me tell you how this project was made.  Are you familiar with tapestry crochet? I used this technique to create my sample piece. Tapestry crochet is a crochet technique that uses single crochet stitches but with yarns of several colors used at the same time (in the same row). It is also referred to as colorwork, jacquard crochet, intarsia, and mosaic. This crochet technique makes use of a color pattern chart to determine which color to use for each stitch. It carries the non-working color within the stitch or down the back of the project. If you are unfamiliar with this method, there are numerous tutorials available online where you can learn more. Now, let us begin!
