DIY Spring Fabric Flowers :)
Hello! It’s Duana from @duana_m_chandler and @duanastudio. In honor of Earth Day coming up on April 22, I wanted to create a recycling project using fabric scraps and creating fabric flowers. What I love about these fabric flowers is that you can add them to your child’s little purse, head bands, or tote bags to add a little Spring to it. Let’s get started!
MATERIALS:
- Clover Rotary Cutter
- Clover Wonder Clips
- needle and thread
- fabric scraps
- buttons
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Cut out 6 circles that are about 3 diameters in length. I used the cap from a container, which was a perfect circle.
2. Fold the circle in half and fold over again. Use a wonder clip to hold the raw edges together.
3. Do a running stitch and stitch the raw edges of the folded circle.
4. Pull on string and it creates a petal. Make sure the stitches are pulled so that it becomes tight.
5. Connect the ends of the petals to form a circle and sew it together to hold it together.
6. Attach a button to the center. Tie the knot at the end and trim any loose threads.
That’s it! It’s a really easy and simple project to get your Spring started. I attached the fabric flowers to my daughter’s purse using thread. Happy Spring everyone! I hope you are able to make a bunch of flowers for this season 🙂
