Rumpelstilskein The Dragon *crochet amigurumi pattern*

Hello to you all! I’m Alex, the crochet and tunisian crochet designer and storyteller behind With Alex. Today I have a new crochet amigurumi pattern and I think he is splendid for this time of year! I would love for you all to meet Rumpelstilskein the dragon! This mischievous character pretends to be a goblin, but his is actually a dragon! Beware of him at night, he sneaks into homes and steals yarn, stitch markers, crochet hooks and more. Nothing is safe when Rumpelstilskein is around! He is also obsessed with anything gold, but especially fate’s golden strings!

Rumpelstilskein is the 6th character pattern and short story release for the Alex In Yarnder Land Series. It all started with a girl named Alex after she met a boy named Blue. Then we met his sister Aurora, followed by The Fates and then Sir Basil the elf. The Fates banished Rumpelstilskein a long time ago. Part ghost and part nightmare, he has haunted Alex’s dreams since she was a child. Now he thinks he has found a way back through Alex’s gift and he will stop at nothing until he has returned! Read more about the Alex In Yarnder Land Series and find the crochet pattern links for the characters, here. And read Rumpelstilskein’s introduction short story, here.

Rumpelstilskein has long pointy ears, dramatic eyes, purple horns and wild golden hair. He also has wings, claws and a long, scaly tail. He wears a blue tunic and purple pants.

For this design, I used my Size G 4.00 mm Clover Amour Crochet Hook (or if you’re looking for a full, high-quality set of crochet hooks, click here)! With wrist and joint pain, I need a lightweight crochet hook and after trying many different kinds, the Clover Amour Crochet Hook is my favorite for crocheting amigurumi. Universal Yarn Uptown Worsted glides easily over the Clover hook and the colors were amazing for Rumpelstilskein.
