Autumn Tic-Tac-Toe Board!

MATERIALS:

ABBREVIATIONS:
  • ch – chain
  • sc – single crochet
  • hdc – half double crochet
  • dc – double crochet
  • st – stitch
  • sl st – slip stitch
  • sc2tog – single crochet 2 together
MEASUREMENTS:

Board: 14” x 14”

 

PUMPKIN PATTERN (MAKE 5):

With orange worsted weight yarn and 5.5 mm crochet hook, make a magic ring.

Round 1: Ch 2, 12 dc in the ring. Join with a sl st to the first dc.

Round 2: Ch 1, sc in the first st, sc in the next, 2 hdc in the next, 2 dc in the next, 2 hdc in the next, sc in the next 2, 2 hdc in the next, 2 dc in the next, 2 hdc in the next, sc in the last 2 sts. Join with a sl st to the first st.

Round 3: Ch 1, sk the first st, sc in the next st, 2 sc in the next, sc in the next, 2 sc in the next, sc in the next, 2 sc in the next, sc in the next, sl st in the next 2, sc in the next, 2 sc in the next, sc in the next, 2 sc in the next, sc in the next, 2 sc in the next, sc in the next, sl st in the last st.

Do not join. Finish off. Weave in ends.

Attach brown in the sl st from the last round. Ch 1.

Row 1: 1 sc in the same sp, 1 sc in the next two sts. Ch 1, turn.

Row 2: 1 sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 3: Sc2tog over the first two sts, 1 sl st in the last st. Finish off. Weave in ends.

SUNFLOWER PATTERN (MAKE 5):

With brown worsted weight yarn and 5.5 mm crochet hook, make a magic ring.

Round 1: Ch 2 (does not count as a st), 12 dc in the ring. Join with a sl st to the first dc. Finish off. Attach yellow in any st from the previous round.

Round 2: Ch 4, 1 sc in the second ch from the hook, 1 sc in the next ch, 1 hdc in the last ch, sl st into the same st where you joined. Sl st into the next st, (ch 4, 1 sc in the second ch from the hook, 1 sc in the next ch, 1 hdc in the last ch, sl st into the same st as ch 4) 11 times. (12 petals)

Finish off. Weave in ends.

BOARD PATTERN:

With chunky cream yarn and 6.5 mm crochet hook, ch 35.

Row 1: 1 hdc in the 3rd ch from the hook and in each ch across. Ch 2, turn. (33 hdc)

Row 2-28: 1 hdc in each st across. Ch 2, turn.

Finish off. Weave in ends.

With brown, attach yarn from underneath at the end of the row between rows 9 and 10. Insert your hook into each st grabbing the brown yarn from below and making a sl st. When you reach the last st, remove the hook from the loop and insert the hook from underneath, grab the loop and pull it through, secure it underneath. Finish off.

For the other lines, you’re going to work along the other side of the board and count in 11 sts, then join your yarn around the front post of the dc. Ch 13. Sl st around the sl st from the line directly perpendicular to the one you are making. Ch 16, sl around the next sl st from the next line. Ch 13, sl st around the dc post in the last row.

Repeat same sequence on the other side, counting in 11 sts.
