Patriotic Sanitizer Cozy- Crochet Pattern

Hello! It’s Jennifer Ryan, the designer and blogger behind Celtic Knot Crochet. I am excited to be sharing a patriotic crochet project here on the Clover blog!

This project works up quickly and is super practical!  All you need is a small amount of red, white and blue yarn to make this cute cozy. The stitch pattern is simple, too – a fun variation of the single crochet stitch that gives great texture and stability.

Let’s get started!

Skill Level: Easy

Supplies:

Size 3 (DK weight) Cotton yarn  – 1 skein of each color Red, White and Blue

F (3.75mm) Clover crochet hook

Jumbo Tapestry needle (Clover)

Clover Stitch marker

Sanitizer bottle (1 fl. oz – Approximate bottle dimensions = 1 ½” w x 3 ½” t x ¾” thick)

Decorative star button

Clip

Finished Measurements:  2” wide x 3 ¼” tall (when laid flat and sanitizer bottle not inside)

Gauge: 1” = 4 1/2 Wsc; 1” = approximately 7 rows of Wsc

Abbreviations:

YO (yarn over)

Hk (hook)

Lp (loop)

Ch (chain)

St (stitch)

Sp (space)

Sc (single crochet)

Hdc (half double crochet)

Dc (double crochet)

Sl st (slip stitch)

Special Stitches:

Wsc (Waistcoat Single Crochet) = Insert hook into body of next single crochet stitch; YO, draw up a loop, YO, pull through 2 loops on hook

Project is worked in the round from the bottom up (after a base rectangle is made)
