Bluff Trail Infinity Scarf and Cowl Crochet Pattern

Hello! This is Kathy Olivarez, the designer behind Kathy’s Crochet Closet. I’m excited to be back on the Clover Blog with a new crochet project: the Bluff Trail Infinity Scarf and Cowl!

These chunky circle scarves will keep you warm all winter long! The design features a beautiful texture created with simple stitches that are worked in the round. The pieces are as easy to wear as they are to make.  The infinity scarf wraps twice around your neck and the cowl simply pops over your head and gathers into a cloud of coziness!  Both scarves are a perfect match to the Bluff Trail Beanie  and the Bluff Trail Mitts, and since these pieces work up fast, you will want to make matching sets!

The yarn I used for this project is Loops & Threads Cozy Wool, a super bulky weight yarn that comes in tons of pretty shades. The hook is my go-to Clover Amour hook in the size M/N 9mm.  This hook feels so comfortable in your hand and just glides through your stitches.  The finished infinity scarf will measure 60” around and 7” wide. The cowl will measure 26” around and 9.5” wide.

Foundation Chain: Ch 110. Join ends of chain as follows:

Remove the hook from the working loop.

Re-insert hook into the working loop from the back.

Insert hook into the first back ridge loop at the starting end of the chain. Make sure the chain isn’t twisted.

Pull the loop through. (Don’t yarn over.)

Pull gently on the working end of the yarn, making the yarn snug around the new working loop.
