Hi Everyone! I’m Ashley, the designer and maker behind The Loopy Lamb. I’m so excited to be invited back to the Clover blog to teach you all how to do make the Eleventh-Hour Crochet Blanket!
The holiday season is upon us and many of us are working tirelessly to create handmade gifts for our loved ones. If you’re organized, you may be ahead of schedule and calmly working through your planned projects without a care in the world. But many of us (* ahem* me) have taken on too much or are running behind and we’re feeling a little panicky about how few days we have left until the big day. Maybe there is someone you forgot on your list *gasp* and you are in need of a last-minute crochet gift that can be made in a few hours but you don’t want it to look like it was a last-minute gift. If the last few examples sound like you, then you’re the person I designed this blanket for. Our friends at Clover and I wanted to create a project that would serve as a great go-to pattern for those needing a last-minute gift that anyone (even beginners) could crochet in only a couple of hours. This is a throw or lapghan-sized blanket that measures approximately 32” wide x 50” long when crocheted to gauge.
To help us get our blankets done in a flash, we’re breaking out the big hooks and super jumbo yarn. This also creates an incredbily lush and cozy blanket that any receipient will love to receive. I used a 15 mm Clover Amour Crochet Hook and Bernat Blanket Extra. I chose to add stripes to my blanket to create some visiual interest but if you want to save yourself even more time, just buy the needed yarn in all one colour and leave out the stripes. That will result in less ends to weave in as well but even last-minute, I’m always willing to add a little visual interest.

- Colour changes are done at the end of indicated rows, using the last yarn over of the last stitch.
