Cute Ghost Coaster Pattern

Hi everyone! I’m Amber and I’m the designer behind Divine Debris and I love Halloween. It’s my favorite time of year and I love to spend hours thinking of new designs for the season (in my house it’s a whole, long season). So when Clover reached out for a collaboration I was so excited. Any excuse for a new Halloween pattern am I right?

I combined my love of Halloween with one of my favorite go-to ways to add some crochet to my home: coasters. I have glass coffee tables in my living room and I hate the sound of my cup thudding down that glass and so I always have a coaster or dozen available to use. And if you’re anything like me, you don’t have to use these exclusively as seasonal decor… cute ghosts work any time of year. And of course you can make a bunch of these and sew them together for placemats, blankets, wall-hangings, or even a scarf. They work up so fast you can be as creative as you want with this simple ghost pattern.

This pattern is really not very hard at all, if you can do a single crochet you can make these, just make sure you pick up that new color on your final pull through of your sc. When I made my two here I chose to not carry the color, I instead used both pieces of yarn from the skein for color A (the center pull and the outside) so that I could pick up and drop the colors as I moved across the rows. I like the look of not carrying the yarn when I use white, that way the color doesn’t peek through so much but you can absolutely carry the yarn if you want, it’s your choice.
And I hope you have fun with the colors. When green and purple were added as Halloween colors a few years (or was it decades?) ago I was overjoyed. I love greens, purples, and oranges mixed black as little touches of Halloween decor.

I hope you enjoy this pattern.
