Hello Makers! It’s Elise again, the maker and designer behind Frosia Knits. This week I am happy to share with you a new beanie pattern, the Nodo D’Amore Beanie. This beanie knits up quickly and is soon to become your new fall favorite.
The Nodo D’Amore Beanie uses the same knot stitch featured in my Fiorentino Washcloth pattern. The elegant knot stitch works up beautifully in a super bulky yarn to give it extra dimension and makes this beanie stand out from the rest.
This pattern is knit in the round, bottom up. It was inspired by the love locks that hang on the Ponte Milvio bridge in Roma, Italy. The first movie I saw with my now husband was Tre Metri Sopra il Cielo. The lead couple fall in love and as a symbol of that love they go to the Ponte Milvio in Roma and put a lock on it with their initials and throw the key into the Tevere River. Years after we met, I did just that with my husband and this beanie with all the little love knots or locks was inspired by that moment. Hope you enjoy!

Notes
The stitch pattern is a 6 stitch repeat. If you need to increase the width of the beanie, do so increasing in multiples of 6. The row pattern is a 6 round repeat, if you wish to increase the height for a slouchier beanie, repeat round 9-14 as desired and then continue to Round 21.
