Henley the Hound – Amigurumi Pattern

Hi Everyone!  I’m Ashley, the designer and maker behind The Loopy Lamb.  I’m so excited to be back on the Clover blog for a third time to share with you my latest crochet pattern to make this playful and adorable amigurumi dog: Henley the Hound.

Henley the Hound is a playful and sweet puppy that loves to play and of course, eat treats.  Henley is posed to look like he is asking to play or for a treat.  He is a perfect gift for the dog lover in your life.

With the addition of weighted pellets to the base of the toy, Henley is capable of sitting up on his own to ask for treats.  Adding weighted pellets are completely optional but it may make Henley a little less stable when sitting on his own. Henley’s feet, tail and hind quarters are designed and placed in a way to help him sit up on his own but the pellets just help to make him a bit more secure in that position.

This crochet dog has been made using the amigurumi crochet technique.  This means that crochet stitches have been used to create a stuffed animal.

Crocheting amigurumi can be tough on your hands if you don’t have a comfortable hook.  For this design I used a 3.5mm Clover Amour Crochet Hook which is a really comfortable hook that works great for crocheting amigurumi toys.  Locking Stitch Markers are used to keep track of each round in the pattern so make sure to have those handy as well.
