Wonder Pins with Dori Troutman

I have been waiting with excitement to share with you a new Clover product that will be available in July.  This is such a simple product; but yet so incredibly useful.  It’s called a Wonder Pin!

These pins are like a safety pin but yet the thing that really makes them special is that you can open and close them using only one hand. The pins are bent at just the perfect angle to insert into multiple layers of a quilt for basting.  And its a simple process of inserting the pin through all layers of fabric, bringing the pin tip back to the top and then simply pushing down to lock the pin into place; all with one hand.  They can be removed just as easily.

The top part of the pin has a very nice curve to it that fits the finger perfectly.

I really enjoyed using every pin in the box of 20 to baste a quilt that I am hand quilting.  What I loved about the basting process was that I didn’t have to reach under the fabric to try to push the pin back up, or use both hands to close the pin.  It really is as simple as it sounds.

The other thing that I noticed in hand quilting is that I didn’t feel like my thread hung up in the Wonder Pins near like it does with a quilt basted with regular safety pins. When it did catch on the pin, it easily slipped off as there are no little pieces to hang it up.

And the added bonus is that these are so colorful and fun!  That’s important too right?

I also used the Wonder Pins on a quilt that I was machine quilting. I absolutely loved that I could very quickly use my right hand to remove the pin as my presser foot got close to it!  With just a little push of my index finger, the pin unlocked and I could remove it.  It is so fast that you hardly have to pause the machine.

I am just so excited about the new Wonder Pins!  These will be available for sale in July and I promise you that you need to add them to your sewing supplies!

I don’t want to be without them at all now, and you won’t either!
