New Products for I Sew For Fun Line!

Hello again my fellow Clover addicts! Jessie from Jessie At Home back with you for more sewing gadget awesomeness. Last month Clover added some new products to the I Sew For Fun collection and today I’m going to tell you a bit about them. I will tell you about the new products here, then you can pop over to THIS post on my blog for a few more ISFF products that I adore, and a giveaway. Woo Hoo – Giveaway!!

I Sew For Fun Flexible Thimble Set

I have a love/hate relationship with thimbles. I love not poking holes in my fingers, but I hate feeling like I’m wearing a mini bucket on my fingers. These flexible thimbles are so much better! They feel more comfortable, and they breath. They have little holes in them so they’re like tiny Crocs for your fingers. 🙂

Another bonus is that they are a set. With the metal bucket-type thimbles you can protect your fingers and you can push needles or pins into your work, but pulling is a bit difficult. This thimble set can be worn on your thumb and pointer finger, so you can grip your needle or pin and pull it through. Pretty cool!

Protect ‘n Grip Thimble

If you are a needle or pin pusher, then the Protect ‘n Grip Thimble is the tool for you. It’s got a flexible base with a scallop shape for air flow, so it’s more comfortable then metal thimbles. It also has a metal tip so you can push your pins or needles through your work. If you grab this thimble and pair it up with the thumb thimble from the set above, then you can push and pull! It’s the best of both worlds.

I Sew For Fun Roll & Press

This is my favorite new tool!!! Where was this when I was in undergrad? I majored in Costume Design at The Theatre School at DePaul University and my costume tech teacher was a big fan of finger pressing seams before ironing them. My fingers would have been so much happier with this little guy! Not only will it help to get your seams open before pressing them with an iron, but it’s also great for no-iron seams. So if you’re glueing seams such as with leather or felt, this tool will be your new best friend.

Also, if you’re using the fabric folding pen from Clover that I shared with you in THIS post, you can use the Roll & Press to get those seams nice and flat. I love this tool so much!

I Sew For Fun Point 2 Point Turner

Now here’s another tool that really makes your sewing products look professional. Sewing a straight seam and turning it is easy enough, but what about shaped seams? What about turning things like pillow cases and lined items? It can be really difficult to get a nice point or to fully turn a rounded seam. The point turner can be used to push your seam out to where it needs to be before you press it.

The pointed end is perfect for pointed seams and the rounded end works great for pushing out the rest of the seam. You can also use the edge to press a seam flat once you get it in the proper shape (or you can use the roller above for that!) The shape of the Point 2 Point turner makes it easy to hold and it’s thick enough to grip tightly without worry of bending or damaging it.
