    Make it Monday – Flower Frills

    Need an easy way to use up extra scraps of fabric? Try using Clover’s Flower Frill templates! These reusable templates make it easy.     Watch Us Wednesday – Bead Embroidery

    Tambour is the art of embroidering with a fine hook into a fine cloth stretched on a hoop.     Friday Finds – Kanzashi

    Carol Porter created this fantastic display of the Kanzashi Flower Makers and finished flowers for her class at Portland Quilt Market. She used a cookie sheet with adhesive magnets on the back of each flower and template in her beautifully color coordinated guide to the available shapes and sizes of Kanzashi Flower Makers. The flowers shown from left to right are round petal, pointed petal, orchid petal, gathered petal, and daisy petal.     Make It Monday – Flower Wreath

    Spring is a wonderful time to decorate with a new wreath. We wrapped a styrofoam wreath with burlap, and then created a garden of fabric flower embellishements using the extra small Kanzashi Flower Makers. The centers of the flowers are a mix of buttons, seed beads, and rolled twine.     Make It Monday – Pom Pom Hydrangeas

    Have you tried making pom-poms with fabric?  It gives the pom-pom a whole new look, perfect for a spring bouquet.  It’s easy to do if you use a rotary cutter to cut the fabric, and is a wonderful way to use scraps from quilting and sewing projects.  Here’s the link to all the directions for the flowers shown on the left.  The little trick to get the fluffy look is giving the pom-poms a trim at the end with pinking shears.  It’s the little touches that make all the difference.…
