DIY Baby Mobile :)

Hello, it’s Duana with @duana_m_chandler and @duanastudio and I just had a baby! I wanted to share a project that would add a nice personal touch to your baby’s nursery, which is this baby mobile. It is a simple project where you can add your own variation to make it match your nursery’s theme. I chose to use more neutral colors because my baby’s nursery is primarily gray and light pink. I also chose to do a nighttime theme, but you can also create an animal theme or floral theme.

MATERIALS:

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Draw or print the shapes or designs that you want for the mobile. I printed out some shapes for a baby mobile, which were a crescent moon, stars, and clouds! Printing out the shapes and/or designs is also an easier option if you want more complex designs.

2. Cut out the shapes or designs using the Clover Rotary Cutter and Clover Flower Pins. Make sure to layer the fabric so that you get two of each side.

3. Place crazy glue around the edges of one side, leaving a small opening. With the wrong sides together, put the two layers together. I used Clover Wonder Clips to hold the shapes in place as the glue dries. Take pieces of the yarn and stitch in place on the top and bottom ends.

4. Fill with polyfil. Do not overstuff as it can distort the shapes. Seal the small opening of the shapes with glue.

5. Take the embroidery hoop and use crazy glue to attach 4 pieces of yarn to 4 evenly distributed areas of the hoop. You can wrap the yarn around a few times to secure it. Take the one moon piece and 4 pieces of evenly cut yarn and tie together. Take the ends of the yarn that are attached to the stars and clouds and glue to the 4 evenly distributed areas of the hoop.

Just like that, your DIY Baby Mobile is complete! The last thing is to use a hook or hang from the ceiling, or you can use an attachment to hang from the crib. Hope you enjoyed this quick tutorial of this DIY Baby Mobile. It can also be a keepsakes for your baby once they grow up. Thank you all for reading this pattern and I hope you are able to make one of your own if you or someone you know is expecting a little one anytime soon 🙂
