Possibly Pumpkins Head Scarf – Crochet Pattern

Hey hey! It’s Laura from LCK Crochet and I am here to serve up a Halloween-inspired head
scarf crochet pattern!


Possibly Pumpkins is your go-to fall accessory that is cute, simple, and works up so quickly!
Follow the suggested colors for the perfect pumpkin patch look.

Materials
– Clover Amour Crochet Hook 7 –Art No. 1046/7
– #3 DK or light-weight #4 yarn (3 colors)
COLOR A: Bernat Softee Cotton – Feathered Gray
COLOR B: We Are Knitters Pima Cotton – Khaki
COLOR C: We are Knitters Pima Cotton – Copper
– Scissors
– Clover Darning Needle Set- Art No. 339
– Clover Quick Locking Stitch markers- Art No. 3033
– Blocking tools (optional)

Abbreviations
– ch – chain
– slst – slip stitch
– sc – single crochet
– hdc – half double crochet
– sk – skip
– sp – space

Notes
– Pattern is written for a one-size-fits-all headscarf
– Place a stitch marker in the chain 3 space at the beginning of each row to make it easier to
see
– Stitch counts can be found at the end of each row where applicable

 


Finished size

 


Gauge
Rows 1 – 4 = approx. 2” triangle
*Follow pattern instructions for gauge

Special Stitches
– V Stitch (Vst) – (hdc, ch 1, hdc) in same stitch


– Bobble Stitch (bobble st) – Yarn over, insert hook into stitch and pull up a loop, yarn over, pull
through two. Repeat 4 more times until you have 6 loops on your hook. Yarn over and pull
through all 6 loops.

Pattern
Starting with COLOR A, ch 4


Row 1: turn, Vst in 4th chain from the hook (1 Vst, ch 3)


Row 2: ch 3, turn, sk hdc, Vst in ch 1 sp, sk hdc, Vst in ch 3 sp (2 Vst, ch 3)


Row 3: ch 3, turn, sk hdc, Vst in ch 1 sp, sk 2 hdc, Vst in ch 1 sp, sk hdc, Vst in ch 3 sp (3 Vsts, ch
3)


Row 4: ch 3, turn, sk hdc, Vst in ch 1 sp, * sk 2 hdc, Vst in ch 1 sp, repeat from * across, sk hdc,
Vst in ch 3 sp (4 Vsts, ch 3)


*Repeat Row 4 for a total of 26 Rows and a total of 26 Vsts and a chain 3*

Edging
Step 1: ch 1, turn, sc in each hdc across, sc in ch 3 space (53)


Step 2: Change to COLOR B, place 39 sc along the left edge of your headscarf (3 sc for every
2 rows)


Step 3: (sc, ch 1, sc) in the corner of your headscarf, place stitch marker in ch 1 space


Step 4: Place 39 sc along the right edge of your headscarf (3 sc for every 2 rows), slst into
first st from Step 1


Step 5: Fasten off COLOR B and switch to COLOR C, ch 3, turn, bobble st in the last st from
Step 4, * sk 3, ch 3, bobble st in next st, repeat from * to the corner


Step 6: Chain 4, bobble st in marked ch 1 sp, chain 4


Step 7: Skip 3, bobble st in next st, sk 3, chain 3, bobble st in next st, repeat from * to the end
of the left side, dc in same st


Step 8: Fasten off COLOR C and switch to COLOR A, ch 1, turn, sc into dc, sc in next bobble st,
*place 4 sc in chain 3 sp, sc in next bobble st, repeat from * until chain 4 space


Step 9: Place 5 sc in ch 4 space, sc in next bobble st, place 5 sc in ch 4 space


Step 10: Sc in next bobble st, * place 4 sc in next ch 3 space, sc in next bobble st, repeat from
* to the last bobble st, sc in top of ch 3


Step 11: chain 61, sc in 2nd chain from hook and across (60)


Step 12: sc in each sc along the top of the headscarf (53)


Step 13: chain 61, sc in 2nd chain from hook and across, slst into first sc of Step 8 (60)

Fasten off and weave in ends using darning needles! Block your piece for a more finished
look!
