Hey friends! Rachel from Cozy Nooks Designs here. I am a crochet & knit designer, blogger, YouTuber and Crochet Instructor with Annie’s Creative Studio. Today I am going to share with you a quick crochet ornament – The BoHoHo Ornaments!
We will be making the tree ornament on the right, but if you’re interested in the ornament on the left, you can check out the free pattern HERE!
These ornaments are very beginner friendly and use simple stitches throughout the design. You can whip these up quickly to gift as teacher gifts, neighbor gifts, or tags for presents. They’re so quick and fun to make!
I have some YouTube and blog posts with different crochet techniques to aid you, so don’t be intimidated by these if you’re a beginner! These will be linked throughout the post.
Alright, let’s get to the pattern!

- Darning Needle Set (Art. No 339)

Terminology
US Crochet Terms Used
- ch – chain
- rem – remaining
- sc – single crochet
- sl st – slip stitch
- st/sts – stitch/stitches
Notes
- Ch 1 does not count as a st
- To unravel fringe, you can “comb” your needle through the strands rather than unraveling by hand
- Work from the top down. To begin, you will single crochet around a small wooden ring. To do so, you can watch this YouTube tutorial –
Using a 1” wooden ring & working from the top of the tree down
Row 1: sc 3 around ring, turn (3 sts)
Row 2: ch 1, sc across, turn (3 sts)
Row 3: ch 1, 2 sc in same st, sc 1, 2 sc in next st, turn (5 sts)
Rows 4-5: ch 1, sc across, turn (5 sts)
Row 6: ch 1, 2 sc in same st, sc 3, 2 sc in next st, turn (7 sts)
Rows 7-8: ch 1, sc across, turn (7 sts)
Row 9: ch 1, 2 sc in same st, sc 5, 2 sc in next st, turn (9 sts)
Rows 10-11: ch 1, sc across, turn (9 sts)
Row 12: ch 1, 2 sc in same st, sc 7, 2 sc in next st, turn (11 sts)
Rows 13-14: ch 1, sc across, turn (11 sts)
Row 15: sl st 5, ch 1, sc 1 into same st, sc 2, leave rest unworked, turn (3 sts)
Rows 16-17: ch 1, sc across, turn (3 sts)
Row 18: ch 1, sc across (3 sts)
Fasten off. Weave in ends.
FRINGE
Step 1: Cut 11, 5” strands
Step 2: Fold one strand in half, thread though needle, attach to 1 sc at bottom
Step 3: Repeat Step 2 with rem 10 strands, 1 in each sc (do not trim fringe yet; you need length to tie beads.)
Step 4: Cut 9” strand, tie ends together at tip to create a circle to be used to hang on the tree, trim excess
Step 5: Attach to the top of wooden ring using the same method used to attach fringe
Step 6: Thread each fringe strand using needle and add 1 bead on fringe piece 1, 3, 9, & 11. Tie a double knot under the bead to secure
Step 7: Unravel fringe and trim excess to ½” of fringe.
Hopefully this ornament gets you excited for the upcoming season!
