Knit Santa Hat Pattern

It’s the most wonderful time of the year and what better way to show your holiday cheer than with a knit Santa Hat!

This time of year can get stressful and it’s no secret that lots of people wait until the last minute to start working on their handmade gifts (like me)…

Since it’s getting into crunch time for gifts and market prep for my makers, I made up this easy knit pattern to help you tackle your gift list and get everyone into the holiday spirit. It’s a great, quick pattern you can use for market prep or family gifts!

The fanciest thing about this hat is that eye-catching decrease which reminds me of pine trees. It can be made in standard Santa colors or you can make up fun color combinations and add a faux fur pom instead of a yarn pom for a different look on this classic combo.

This is an easy project for beginners which includes knit and purl stitches plus the decreases.

You’ll need 8 mm US 11 and 10 mm US 15 16″ circular knitting needles, super bulky yarn for the brim and 2 strands of worsted weight yarn held together for the body.

If you’d like an ad-free version with the full range of sizes from newborn to teen/adult, more tips and yarn weight modification ideas, you can find that on Etsy or Ravelry. Let’s get started!
