Watermelon Garland
Hi! I’m Molly, I’m a married mom of 4 littles living in the Chicago suburbs. I started crocheting when I was 17, and 17 years later I’m still going! In 2015 I opened an Etsy shop that became pretty successful over time. I mainly created and sold various newborn hats and props, and seasonal items. While I still dabble in that, my interests have evolved, and I’m now having tons of fun writing up patterns and creating content and tutorials on social media.

Round 3 – Attach white yarn and ch 1. Sc in the same stitch as ch1, then sc in the next 3. *Sc 2 in
the next stitch, and sc in the next 3*. Repeat stitches in the asterisks all the way around. Join
with a ss. You will have 30 stitches.
Round 4 – Attach green yarn and ch 2. Dc in the same stitch as ch2, then dc in the next 2. *Dc 2
in the next stitch, then dc in the next 2*. Repeat stitches in the asterisks all the way around. Join
with a ss. You will have 40 stitches. Tie off leaving a long tail for sewing.
Fold the circle shape in half to visualize your seed placement. Unfold, then using your black yarn
and embroidery needle, sew in a few seeds to your preference. Thread your needle with the
green tail, fold the shape in half again, tuck in all of your ends, and sew up the sides, creating a
half-moon shape. Knot, tie off, and tuck in your tail.
These watermelon slices can be added to a summer garland or wreath, make a great addition to
a play kitchen, a unique accent for tiered tray decor, and more. Let your creativity run wild!
