Holiday Gift Guide for Crocheters

Hi Everyone! I’m Ashley, the designer and maker behind The Loopy Lamb. I’m so excited to have been invited back to the Clover blog again to share with you the Holiday Gift Guide for Crocheters

If you have a crocheter in your life (or someone that’s thinking about picking up crochet as a fun, new hobby), Clover has some wonderful tools that crocheter’s would love to find under the tree this holiday season. These tools are tried and tested by countless hobby and professional crocheters and are a part of my personal go-to tool kit. If you purchase any of the tools from this list, be sure to check out our free downloadable card at the end of this article. Include this with your gift so your recipient knows exactly where to come to learn how to use their fantastic new tools and find projects they can use them for.

Amour Crochet Hooks and Hook Set

The Amour Crochet Hook Set contains 10 crochet hooks in the most commonly used sizes. These hooks are comfortable to use and a great set for beginners and experienced crocheter’s alike. Gifting this to a beginner enables them to be able to try a variety of different projects with different yarn weights without having to run out and get a new hook for every new project. They’ll have everything they need at hand. Check them out HERE.

Amour Crochet Hooks are also sold individually so if the recipient has been wanting to try crochet to see if they like it, individual hooks may be a good place to start. My first hook size recommendations for beginners are 5mm, 5.5mm or 6mm. Those hook sizes are widely used in a large variety of projects, so they are a great place to start. They also make great stocking stuffers! Check them out HERE.

Takumi Bamboo Interchangeable Tunisian Crochet Hooks

This set is perfect for the experienced crocheters in your life. Tunisian crochet is specialized crochet technique that many crocheters will tackle after having mastered the basics. The Interchangeable Tunisian Crochet Hook Set takes the confusion out of what size hooks and cables to buy by having all the standards sizes available in a single set. Check them out HERE. Components in the set are also sold separately.

Darning and Tapestry Needle Sets

No crochet or knitter tool kit is complete without a good set of tapestry needles. Clover Darning and Tapestry Needles come in different sized sets and they all come in a really handy little case to keep them safe from little hands and from getting lost.

Darning Needle Set – Art. No 339: (Green Container) has three different sized needles and is handy for every crocheter to have. They work with a variety of yarn weights and project types so they are very versatile. Check them out HERE.

Darning Needle Set (Bent Tip) – Art. No 3121: (Yellow Container) This is my personal favorite. This comes with three different sized darning needles that have a bent tip that are perfect for the crocheter that likes to make amigurumi/crochet toys. Check them out HERE.

Mini Patchwork Scissors – 4 1/2″

Crocheters and crafters of all skill levels can benefit from having a pair of sharp, dependable scissors in their tool kit. As a crafter, it can be so frustrating to work with a subpar/dull pair of scissors. These Clover Mini Patchwork Scissors are fantastic! They are sharp, sturdy and my absolute favorite pair of scissors that I own (and I own A LOT of scissors). These scissors are compact too so they can be taken on the go wherever your favorite crafters go, all while stored safely in the handy little sheath they come with. Check them out HERE.

Quick Locking Stitch Marker Set

Stitch Markers are an absolute must have for crocheters of all levels and these are my favorite. This set comes with a variety of sized stitch markers in a handy storage container and they are made to look like little sheep. Handy and adorable! These stitch markers lock closed so they won’t fall out of a project which saves crocheters time and a lot of potential frustration. Check them out HERE.

Pom-Pom Makers

Pom-Pom Makers make making the perfect pom-pom every time a breeze. They’re easy to use and come in a variety of different sizes so you can make pom-poms for any project you come up with. The Pom-Pom Maker Set that has 4 different-sized pom-poms in it is the perfect place to start. If they already have that, try getting them the Pom-Pom Maker (Extra Large). Check out the Pom-Pom Maker Set HERE and the Pom-Pom Maker (Extra-Large) HERE.

Tassel Makers

Tassel Makers are another tool that help makers get great results fast. The Tassel Makers come in two different sizes: Small and Large. The small Tassel Makers enable crafters to make tassels in 3 different sizes while the large Tassel Makers can be used to make 5 different sizes. Tassels can be used to add flair to scarves, blankets and smaller tassels can be used to make earrings and keychains. Check out the small Tassel Maker HERE and the large Tassel Maker HERE.

Swatch Ruler & Needle Gauge

This tool is handy for helping both crocheters and knitters measure their crochet swatches to ensure their project will turn out to be the proper size and use the correct amount of yarn. This tool has the added bonus of having little notches in the sides to assist in determining the size of their crochet hooks if they have hooks that don’t have clear markings on them. Knitters can also quickly assess the size of their needles with the holes in the tool as well. Check it out HERE.

Don’t forget to print out this little gift card (Print One or Print Many!) and include it with your gift so your favorite maker can get started quickly with their new tools by coming back to the Clover website. There are many existing tutorials and free projects for them here.

We will also be debuting exclusive tutorials featuring the tools in this gift guide beginning January 2021! These upcoming tutorials can help them learn to use the wonderful new gifts you give them.
