Salty the Seal and her Baby Seal Pups

Hi Everyone!  I’m Ashley, the designer and maker behind The Loopy Lamb.  I’m so excited to share with you my latest crochet pattern to make this adorable amigurumi seal that I’ve named: Salty the Seal.

As a bonus, I’ve included instructions on how to make Salty’s baby seal pups as well.

Amigurumi seal in two different sizes

Salty the Seal has been crocheted using the amigurumi crochet technique.  This means that crochet stitches have been used to create a stuffed animal.

I’ve used a faux fur yarn for making Salty the Seal which is what makes her so furry and cuddley.  I absolutely love making amigurumi using faux fur yarn.  It can really take a simple crochet project to the next level.  Crocheting with faux fur yarns doesn’t have to be scary.  In this video HERE, I share my tips and tricks for crocheting with faux fur yarns easier (If you prefer to read the article rather than the video, you can find that HERE).  Once you get the hang of it and make your first amigurumi project with faux fur yarn, you’ll be hooked.

I always use locking stitch markers when making amigurumi projects and the Clover Quick Locking Stitch Markers that I used in this project were wonderful.  They are a part of my go-to tool box and the larger sized stitch markers are great for a project like Salty because they stand out from the fur and make your first stitch easy to locate.  The smaller sized stitch markers are perfect for making Salty’s baby seals.

The crochet pattern for Salty the Seal and her seal pups is available now for FREE on The Loopy Lamb Blog.

The free pattern includes step-by-step instructions on how to create Salty the Seal.  If you need additional help or if you can’t read a crochet pattern, a step-by-step video tutorial is available on my YouTube channel for this pattern as well.

Ad-free PDF versions of this pattern are available for a small fee in my Ravelry and Etsy Shops.
