Hi guys! I’m Nadine, the maker behind BuddyLuvsCrochet! I am a full time wife & stay-at-home mommabear. I love to crochet & make ALL of the things! It’s because of this that I became a tester for some amazing designers in our maker community. I started my Etsy shop last March because I wanted to sell my creations & why not make money doing what you love, right?
I started crocheting when I was 8 years old. And although I had a pretty good foundation I always wanted to learn more about my craft but the problem was I didn’t know how to read patterns. So 9 years ago when I was pregnant with my youngest I was watching all of my coworkers crocheting & said to myself someone is going to teach me how to learn a new stitch! It was that day that I was introduced to YouTube & I taught myself every stitch I ever wanted to learn. All but Tunisian crochet…
To say that I haven’t been slightly intimidated by the thought of learning Tunisian crochet would be an understatement. I would see videos & think how beautiful the makes were but I couldn’t grasp how they were constructed with this long two-sided hook. And to make you laugh, I’ve owned a few Tunisian hooks for years now & still hadn’t attempted to try it. However, I was still intrigued because it created these amazing knit-like pieces & I’ve been a long time fan of crochet that mimicked knitwear.
Then this past April a designer friend of mine @by.stephanie.erin had a tester call for her amazing Tunisian Drop Top & I literally cried out “Omg I ran here to test & I don’t know to how to Tunisian yet!” It was at that point I knew I had to teach myself Tunisian crochet! I didn’t even have to right hook for my project! I had to MacGyver a hook together in order to make this top. I was now hooked & decided right then that I needed some authentic Tunisian hooks in my tools of mass creation ASAP! So when I thought about what company would I want my hooks from & it was a no brainer that I would choose Clover!
I’ve been a Clover fan for many years. I first heard of them when I wanted to make my own Pom-Pom Makers & eventually I couldn’t hear enough about their Amour Crochet Hooks so I bought those as well!
So you know I went completely gah gah once I learned that they had a complete set of Interchangeable Tunisian Crochet Hooks. I was given an opportunity to test them & they are amazing!
They are bamboo, very lightweight and have several length cords for different combinations, along with a stopper to keep your stitches intact. With these, you can literally glide through your project. I absolutely adore these hooks!
So at long last I can finally Tunisian!
