Clover Amour Crochet Hooks have a whole host of features that I love – so let’s start at the top! The tip of each hook is rounded so it won’t split the yarn, but still narrow enough to slip into your stitches easily. It’s non-inline, but not by too much, so I’ve never noticed it getting caught.
The throat of Clover Amours is short, while the shaft is long – this means that you’ll have more even loops on your hook and more even stitches in your finished projects! I love tall stitches, and a long shaft is so important in making them look good.
Finally, the thumb rest and handle – the part you actually notice first! These hooks feature easy grip handles made of elastomer, which I totally had to Google. Turns out it just means “rubbery” – and that’s a pretty good description too!
While they won’t erase your math homework, the handles do have a little bit of the feel of a pink eraser. It’s dry, room temperature, and quite pleasant – somehow soft without actually being soft. The thumb grip is great for knife hold or pencil hold, while still being rounded enough to work for a twirler like me – you can just relax and crochet!
Lastly, the sizes are of the Amour hooks are molded right into the handle, so you never have to worry about what size each hook is – and with the different colors, you are also less likely to accidentally pick up the wrong one!
