- will fit any standard size pilates or yoga mat
MATERIALS:
- Clover Amour Crochet Hook (5.5mm)
- Clover Scissors
- yarn needle
- 6 oz of worsted weight yarn
*Ch 2 does not count as a hdc
PATTERN:
- Start with a magic ring.
- Round 1: Ch 2, 10 hdc in the magic ring. Pull tight to enclose. Join with a sl st to the first hdc.
- Round 2: Ch 2, 2 hdc in each st around. Join with a sl st to the first hdc.
- Round 3: Ch 2, 1 hdc in the first st, 2 hdc in the next st, *1 hdc in the next st, 2 hdc in the next st*, repeat from * around to the end. Join with a sl st to the first hdc.
- Round 4-10: Follow in the same manner of increasing by adding one stitch each round until you have a reached an increase of 9. *Example: *1 hdc in each of the next 2 sts, 2 hdc in the next*, and then *1 hdc in each of the next 3 sts, 2 hdc in the next*, and so on until you have 9 hdc in between each 2 hdc.
- Round 11: Ch 2, sk over the joining st, 1 dc in the next st, 1 dc in the joining st (creating a criss cross look). *Sk 1 st, 1 dc in the next st, 1 dc back into the skipped st*, repeat from * across. Join with a sl st to the dc closest to your hook (which is technically the second dc you made at the beginning.
- Round 12: Ch 2, 1 hdc in each st around. Join with a sl st to the first hdc.
- Repeat Rounds 11 and 12 for a total of 11 more times.
- Now you are going to do a few decrease rows.
- Round 35: Ch 2, *1 hdc in the first 9 sts, hdc 2 tog*, repeat from * around to the end, placing a hdc in the last st. Join with a sl st to the first hdc.
- Round 36: Ch 2, *1 hdc in the first 8 sts, hdc 2 tog*, repeat from * around to the end, placing a hdc in the last st. Join with a sl st to the first hdc.
- Round 37-42: Ch 2, 1 hdc in each st around. Join with a sl st to the first hdc. Do not finish off yarn.
- Now you will start on the strap.
- Row 1: Ch 1, 1 sc in the next 8 sts, ch 1, turn.
- Row 2: 1 sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn.
- Row 3-100: Repeat row 2. Cut a long tail.
- Using your yarn needle, sew the end of the strap to the opposite side of the bag. Weave in ends. Finish off with an even row of sc around the entire piece.
