Abbreviations
(U.S. crochet terms)
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
MR – magic ring
sl st – slip stitch
dec – crochet two stitches together (decreasing)
inc – crochet two stitches into the same stitch (increasing)
BLO – crochet into the back loops only
*– repeat around (unless otherwise noted)
Materials
- Amour Crochet Hook K (6.5mm) – Art. No 1053/K
- Amour Crochet Hook (7.0mm)- Art. No 1054
- Patchwork Scissors – Art. No 493/S
- Yarn needle
- Poly-fil stuffing
- Hot glue gun
- 15 mm safety eyes
- Premier chunky parfait yarn:
- Emerald
- Espresso
- Sunshine
- 2 scraps of white (blush)
- Scrap of worsted weight black (mouth)
This finished product will measure approximately 8 inches tall and 6 inches wide.
Star (sunshine) (6.5mm hook)
- Make a MR
- ch 3, sc into the 3rd ch from the hook, sl st into the MR. Repeat four more times. Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Stump (espresso) (7mm hook)
- sc 6 into a MR (6)
- inc in each st around (12)
- sc, inc* (18)
- sc 2, inc* (24)
- BLO sc around (24)

- BLO sc 2, dec* (18)
Add stuffing, keeping it as flat as possible.

Fasten off and use a yarn needle to sew into each remaining stitch and pull shut. Use the tail to sew in and out of the top and bottom of the stump to help keep it flat.
Tree (emerald) (7mm hook)
Leave the tail from the MR. You will use this later to help attach the star.

Now it’s time to add the face and the star.
- Place eyes in-between rounds 11 and 12 and 3 stitches apart.
- Embroider blush directly below the eye, approximately one stitch in width, going outwards.
- Embroider the mouth in between and just below the eyes, forming a V shape. Tie your tails in knots together on the inside of the tree.
- Using a yarn needle sew the star through the very center of your MR. Tie the tail from the star and MR together to secure the star. I also added a small dab of hot glue to the bottom two star points to secure in place to the tree.

Add stuffing, keeping the bottom of the tree as flat as possible.

Fasten off and use a yarn needle and sew into each remaining stitch and pull shut.
Final assembly: Place hot glue onto one of the tree stump sides. Place in the center of the tree bottom and hold until cool.
